#mycreativevoice

One of my lettering heroes, Molly Jacques, started a weekly lettering challenge. I’m not sure how many weekly challenges I’ve tried to participate in so far but I generally SUCK at the follow through. I’m real good with weeks 1 and 2… and then I don’t post anything ever again.

As I’m trying to get better with being a more consistent challenge taker and participant, you’ll get to see my weekly updates as I move through the challenge. Side note: I’m already 3 weeks behind. Whoops.

WEEK 1 - FUN Week 1 was all about lettering a word in a style that evokes FUN. I always have the best time out in nature and opted for a sans serif style with a bouncing baseline. Keeping it simple and clean!

WEEK 2 - DRAMATIC This week’s prompt was all about creating drama with our lettering. I have always found any typeface with hairline serifs and bold chunky strokes to be the epitome of drama. Throw in a swash and some bright dimension, you got yourself lettering that has drama.
